Given the Japanese nature of love hotels, it's surprising that this didn't happen sooner. After all, they all sprout from the same need for companionship and often pop up in the same areas. But it's finally happened, after all this: the Hotel has it's own host club/hostess club/maid cafe/butler cafe. And you're in it! Perhaps you're just curious, or maybe you're a dedicated patron. On the other hand, you might be working here to pay off a debt, get extra money...or just because you're stuck here in a costume and can't get out. Whatever the case, you might as well enjoy the marked up drinks and frilly desserts! Remember, though, that sex with the patrons is not required in these places, unlike their seedier counterparts. Though, given that this is the Hotel, this part may not be true.

THE FLAVORS
→ HOST/HOSTESS CLUBS (aka what you see on Ouran)
Hostess clubs are a common feature in the night-time entertainment industry of Japan, east Asian countries and other areas with a high east Asian population. They employ primarily female staff and cater to males seeking drinks and attentive conversation. The more recent host clubs are similar establishments where primarily male staff cater to females. Host and hostess clubs are considered part of mizu shōbai or "water trade" in Japan. (read more here)
→ MAID CAFE
Maid cafés are a subcategory of cosplay restaurants found predominantly in Japan. In these cafés, waitresses dressed in maid costumes act as servants, and treat customers as masters (and mistresses) in a private home, rather than as café patrons.

The maid costume varies from café to café, but most are based upon the costume of French maids, often composed of a dress, a petticoat, a pinafore, a matching hair accessory (such as a frill or a bow), and stockings. Sometimes, employees wear rabbit or cat ears with their outfits to add more appeal. (read more )
→ BUTLER CAFE (aka the new kid on the block)
Butlers Cafe is a restaurant and bar located in Shibuya, Tokyo, one of Japan's leading fashion centers. The cafe opened in 2006 and spawned from a recent wave of maid cafés or cosplay restaurants that have opened up in and around Tokyo, though predominantly in Akihabara. Butlers Cafe is one of a few butler theme cafes in Tokyo but as of July 2008 is the sole cafe hiring only foreign men as staff. The cafe serves a menu consisting of mainly Italian food, desserts and a range of teas and alcoholic beverages. It was designed for women in Tokyo who "need a bit of fun and excitement in their lives" said the cafe's owner.

The cafe attempts to create an atmosphere reminiscent of a western fairy tale. The butlers treat the customers in a cordial manner by opening doors, taking coats and pulling out chairs, and tiaras are even presented with their meal. The butlers, down on bended knee, play games and, when desired, engage in English conversation as entertainment for the "princesses." (read more here)
